Support is building for the proposed Sutton Mountain Wilderness. The proposal would create a reserve of roughly 60,000 acres in the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.

Although the effort is still in an early stage, local interests are lining up to voice support for the proposal.
