In what may mark a watershed moment in the American debate over anthropogenic climate change, pollsters are now reporting that more Republicans back action to fight climate change than don’t. Interestingly, the Republicans surveyed still thought that such action would adversely affect the economy, despite such news as solar power now employing as many as the coal industry. Although it appears that attitudes are shifting among Republican voters, there is little to suggest Republican politicians are following suit. The New York Times reports on this possible tipping point: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/31/us/politics/most-americans-support-government-action-on-climate-change-poll-finds.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=photo-spot-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0
