An obscure Asian mammal holds the distinctions of having a tongue as long as its body, no teeth, and is the only mammal entirely covered with scales; the endangered pangolin is a unique and fascinating animal. Unfortunately, it is also the most trafficked of endangered mammalian species. Considered a delicacy by some, a medicinal resource by others, it is regularly traded in Asia’s black markets.
