Hedgehogs are in trouble in Britain. Their numbers have plummeted in recent decades. Now, adding to smaller efforts to make properties more hedgehog-friendly, a new 90-hectare (222 acre) refuge is open and providing sanctuary for the cute little beasts. Hedgehogs range surprisingly far while foraging, with an adult male covering as much as a three-kilometer (almost two mile) area in a single night. A big part of the effort is mitigating human-caused barriers to this nocturnal sojourning. The BBC gives the details: http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-31913453
