American Rivers has published their annual list of the nation’s most endangered rivers, and the Pacific Northwest’s Columbia is in at number two. The list isn’t a account of the most polluted rivers, but of those most threatened with losing the value they have. With dams that destroy fish populations and river managers in the U.S. and Canada not placing a priority on managing the river system as an ecosystem, the Columbia faces daunting prospects. The Oregonian has a brief assessment of the report: http://www.oregonlive.com/environment/index.ssf/2015/04/columbia_river_named_nations_2.html#incart_river
