Coast Guard and Marine Board Ask You Label Your Boat
Marine authorities are facing an increasing problem concerning unmanned paddlecraft turning up on waterways. On Puget Sound, for instance, at least twenty such craft were found in July, alone. This can lead to confusion, concern, and expense when it is unclear whether a paddler is missing. An identification label listing the owner of the boat can go a long way in helping authorities determine if there is cause for alarm. To assist you, Paddle Smart Identification Stickers are available, free of charge, from the Marine Board or Marine Patrol officers.
