The Cascade Paddlers, based in Salem, Oregon, is an unstructured, informal affiliation of peers the purpose of which is to facilitate the pursuit of paddlesport activities. Each individual is responsible entirely for their own equipment, safety and good judgement. In the context of the Cascade Paddlers and the group’s activities, no one assumes any liability or responsibility for anyone but themselves.
You must contact the coordinator in advance to register for a trip. PFDs are to be worn on all trips. Helmets are highly recommended for Class II and above. Additional skill and equipment prerequisites may apply. Coordinators and groups reserve the right to exclude anyone from participation in any activity without providing cause. Each participant is solely responsible for their own preparation, equipment, food, transportation, (though, the group normally coordinates a shuttle among participants), and safety. Intoxicants and pets are strictly discouraged. Ed and Carol Deery have produced guides to help you prepare for participation in our outings. The first, a guide on appropriate conduct in regard to outings, is Participantship. The other is a FAQ sheet to provide answers to specific questions that often crop up regarding outings, Paddle Trip FAQs
Activity participants are encouraged to obtain appropriate waivers from other participants. The following is provided as an example of the form such waivers might take. You are free to use this waiver as you deem fit, but it is provided only as an example.
